Delta,
British Columbia
Delta
come celebrate the past
the present
and our future!
One of the sunniest and driest spots in the British Columbia
Lower Mainland, Delta is home to approximately 100,000 people
living in Ladner, Tsawwassen and North Delta. These three
BC communities are as rich and alive as the name 'Delta'
implies: rich in soil and water -- rich in history and industry
-- and especially rich in people. The name 'Delta' itself
is derived from the fact that the community is located at
the delta of the Fraser
River.

Located
in the southwest corner of the Lower Mainland of
British Columbia, the community of Delta is bordered on
the north by the Fraser River, on the south by Boundary
Bay and on the east by the City of Surrey.
The
entire area is a naturalists delight with many parks, and
a bird sanctuary. Outdoor enthusiasts can also frolic at
Centennial beach, walk or bike along the dyke system where
you can gaze at the majestic mountains to the north, or
look out into an ocean bay. For those who like a more organized
surrounding, they can visit a waterslide park or one of
the local golf courses. This "sunshine capital"
draws local residents, as well as those from around the
world, to explore and take advantage of the delights this
area has to offer.

The
communities are justly proud of the amenities which are
vital to the quality of life in each, different as they
are from each other. Above all, people still may find a
well-preserved sense of rural living in Delta. Ladner takes
pride in its early heritage of farming and fishing. Many
of the buildings in the area reflect this early era. A stroll
through Ladner can take you back in years to a slower, quieter
time. North Delta is the largest residential area in the
municipality. Sunshine Hills is a prestigious development
with its own tennis courts, playground, and other public
leisure facilities nearby. Single-family dwellings predominate
in prestigious Tsawwassen, along with low-rise townhouses
and apartments, and beautiful waterfront homes.
