Experience Oona River Retreat! Located in the historic and picturesque community of Oona River on Porcher Island, Oona River Retreat is just 40 Km south west of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada. Here you'll find an Eco-Tourism lodge that provides you with a variety of weekend and weeklong adventure packages … as well as the opportunity to customize your own package adventures.

Our guest accommodations consist of two modern cottages, a main lodge and a 55 foot long mother ship. With 15 as our total number of guests, you are virtually guaranteed peace, quiet and relaxation. The main lodge houses a lounge, games room, satellite projection TV, kitchen, shower, and more. The two self-contained cottages have all modern conveniences, and are situated with easy access to the courtyard, where you'll find a hot tub, sauna, and a large deck with lounging facilities. Our buildings are constructed from red cedar, and the aroma is as breathtaking as the surrounding scenery and wildlife.

Sit in the hot tub and sip on a glass of wine while a British Columbia sunset dominates the horizon. Nearby a deer cuddles her fawn, a bald eagle glides beneath clouds and the scent of nature captivate your mind.

Located on Porcher Island, Oona River Retreat is in the centre of one of North America's top salmon fishing waterways. BC's Skeena River produces legendary sized Chinook, Coho, Chum, Pink, and Sockeye salmon. The Skeena River held the World Record for a sport-caught Chinook until 1985, an unbelievable 92 1/2 pounds!

Halibut is the largest of the game fish in the waters surrounding the island. Usually in the 25-50 pound range, they can reach up to 450 pounds. Whether food for your table, or a fish tale to tell, Oona River Retreat, near Prince Rupert, is the place to come for your BC North-Coast fishing adventure.

Experience the BC coastline from Oona River Retreat, or our comfortable mother ship the Active Pass. Glide along with the orca whales, watch sea lions as they sun bathe, play with the porpoises, feed the eagles, or absorb the history of the lost islands of the north.
